This graph is based on statistics presented in the National Pediatric Trauma Registry publication October 1993, Fact Sheet #2: Injuries Among Children.  The summary is based on the records of 28,692 children who were admitted to 61 children's hospitals or trauma centers that participated voluntarily in the Registry from 1985 - 1993.  The ages of the injured children range from birth through 19 years.
