Early Childhood Resource Center
The Early Childhood Resource Center is designed to provide professionals working with young children access to appropriate and diverse evaluation and assessment instruments, curricular materials, and professional materials. The following resources are available for short term loan:

  • Resources for implementation of developmentally appropriate practices in inclusive environments.
  • Materials for preview which are widely used and recommended for early childhood programs by early childhood professionals.
  • Newly published materials to preview for possible program adoption.


The Kansas Center for Autism Research and Training (KCART) Autism Resource Center
More than 150 DVDs, books and other resources are available for free checkout to families, teachers and service providers.  The Resource Center is located in Suite 270 in Regnier Hall on the West side of Edwards Campus, 127th and Quivira in Overland Park.

The Autism Society of American serves the needs of individuals with autism and their families. This site offers extensive online information on autism and Asperger Syndrome topics.

Brain Injury Assocation of America
Site is filled with articles, links, and current information on brain injury. State chapter addresses and phone numbers are available from this site. Resource information and publications are available through your national and state chapter of the BIA.

The Council for Exceptional Children
An international organization dedicated to improving the educational outcomes for persons with exceptionalities. Access to ERIC database of educational articles and materials from this page.

HEATH Resource Center/George Washington University
National clearinghouse on post secondary education for individuals with disabilities.  Publications and featured resources, FAQs/answers, additional links.  Formerly sponsored by the American Council on Education (ACE).

National Information Center for Children & Youth with Disabilities (NICHCY)
Many online publications on a wide range of disabilities. Fact sheets, briefing papers and articles are available. Excellent resource site.

National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS)
Comprehensive information on disorders of the brain and nervous system.  Free fact sheets and brochures available upon request. Sponsored by the National Institutes of Health. 

Special Education Resources on the Internet (SERI)
Links to sites on speech impairment, special needs and technology and many other special education resources. Access to online articles and publications.  An excellent resource site.
